Last updated · 30 August 2026 · Version 2026-08-30

This page explains what Bereka records when you use it, why, and how long it is kept. It covers the service at this domain only.

What we do not record

Your video and audio are never recorded. They pass directly between you and your partner over a peer-to-peer connection. The chat text you exchange is relayed through the server to your partner but is not written to disk.

What we do record

Why we record it

Connection details and reports let us investigate and act on abuse, keep the matching queue free of dead connections, and protect the service from automated attacks. Consent records give us an auditable trail that a user accepted a specific version of the rules. We do not use any of this for advertising or profiling.

How long we keep it

Connection logs are retained for a short operational window and then rotated out. Reports and consent records are kept longer because they may be needed to handle repeat abuse or a dispute, but no longer than necessary for those purposes.

Who it is shared with

We do not sell or trade any of this data. We disclose it only to the infrastructure providers that run the service on our behalf, or to authorities where we are legally required to do so.

Your choices

You can stop using Bereka at any time. Because there is no account, there is no profile to delete; the records above are tied to a session rather than an identity. For questions or requests relating to your data, contact privacy@bereka.chat.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The version string and date at the top of this page identify the current text. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
